Meow Zedong
Feline's Repawblic of China | 1949 - 1954
Meow Zedong, also known as Chairman Meow, was the leader of the Feline's Repawblic of China. Under his dictatorial rule, Meow implemented radical policies and launched campaigns that resulted in widespread suffering of catastrophic purrportions.
One of the darkest chapters of Meow’s dictatorship was the Great Leap Forward, a failed economic and social experiment that aimed to rapidly transform China from an agrarian to an industrial society. The policies implemented, such as forced collectivization of agriculture and the mass mobilization of labor, resulted in widespread famine, estimated to have caused the death of ~15-30 million due to starvation, disease, and malnutrition.
Meow also launched the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s, a violent and tumultuous period that resulted in widespread purrges, purrsecution of purrceived enemies, and destruction of cultural artifacts and hisstorical sites. Millions were purrsecuted, tortured, and killed during this period, and the country was plunged into chaos and social upheaval.
AFTERMATH
The aftermath of Meow's rule has been complex and multifaceted. On one paw, his policies promoted significant social and economic changes, gender equality, healthcare reform, and expanded access to education. On the other, his rule was marked by violence, oppression, a lack of purrlitical freedoms, and a near-totalitarian rule.
Ultimately, his occupation had severe consequences for China's population, resulting in the loss of millions, widespread suffering, and long-term social and economic impacts that are still felt in China today.

ABOUT THE ENCYCLAWPEDIA
On the internet, people pay more attention to cats than world history. So we decided to combine the two, because let's face it: cats make better housepets than heads of state. Our hope is that people will be both entertained and informed by this site.
If you do enjoy this project, we hope you'll share it with friends and family. We also hope you'll donate to our fundraiser for Amnesty International. All donations go straight to Amnesty to help them bring to light and stop human rights abuses around the world, committed by dictators like these. Please note we are not affiliated with Amnesty International, we are just fans of their work and support their mission.
